  1. About Covid-19
    Covid-19 is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that emerged in December 2019. It is part of the coronavirus family, which include common viruses that cause a variety of diseases from head or chest colds to more severe diseases like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). Like many other respiratory viruses, coronaviruses spread quickly through droplets that you project out of your mouth or nose when you breath, cough, sneeze, or speak. It can affect other parts of the body other than the lungs and respiratory system, and can have lasting health problems in some who have survived the illness.

  2. Authority and Responsibility

    Heather Post, Vice President of Operations, has overall authority and responsibility for implementing the provisions of this CPP in our workplace. In addition, all managers and supervisors are responsible for implementing and maintaining the CPP in their assigned work areas and for ensuring employees receive answers to questions about the program in a language they understand.

    All employees are responsible for using safe work practices, following all directives, policies and procedures, and assisting in maintaining a safe work environment.

  3. Identification and Evaluation of Covid-19 Hazards

    • Document vaccination and booster status of all current employees (this information is maintained as a confidential medical record).

    • Evaluate potential workplace exposures to all persons at, or who may enter, workspaces.

    • Evaluate existing Covid-19 prevention controls in our workplace and the need for different or additional controls.

    • Employees must “self-screen” each day prior to coming to work. They are required to stay home if feeling sick or have the following symptoms: fever, cough, or any type of cold or flu symptoms.

  4. Correction of Covid-19 Hazards

    • If unsafe or unhealthy work conditions, practices, or procedures are identified through evaluation, corrections will be made immediately.

  5. Control of Covid-19 Hazards

    • We provide new N95 or KN95 masks for all personnel that would like to wear one during work hours and for those that are not fully vaccinated.

    • Signage shall be installed if necessary, indicating that those entering workplaces re self-certifying that they are fully vaccinated if not wearing a mask.

    • Signage shall be installed if necessary, reminding employees the proper way to wear and handle face coverings.

    • Employees required to wear face coverings in the workplace may remove them when alone in their office or vehicle, while eating and drinking, when a respirator is required to perform their work, and for specialty tasks that can’t be performed with a face covering.

    • Any employee not wearing a required face covering (if required) will be at least six feet apart from all other persons.

    • For indoor locations, to the extent feasible, we use the highest filtration system compatible with existing HVAC equipment and encourage opening of windows to allow fresh air into workspaces when weather allows.

    • We install signage reminding employees to wash their hands frequently and provide adequate soap, hand sanitizer and hand washing stations to meet the needs of our workforce.

    • We evaluate the need for PPE (gloves, goggles, face shields, etc.) and have stock on hand if needed.

    • We stock Covid-19 “at home” tests for use by employees if needed, at no cost to employees.

  6. Exposure Identification and Protocols:

    • Exposure is classified as close contact with someone infected with Covid-19. Close contact is someone who was less than 6 feet away from an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (close contact with someone with Covid-19 after they have completed at least five days of isolation are not considered exposed).

    • If exposed to Covid-19 and not vaccinated or not up to date on vaccinations:

      • Employee will Quarantine for at least five days from date of exposure;

      • Test as soon as possible after known exposure;

      • End quarantine after day five if symptoms are improving, a fever of 100.4 or higher has not been present for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and a Covid-19 test taken five days after exposure is negative;

      • Upon return to the workplace, employee will wear a mask when around others; continue monitoring for signs of infection for ten days, and isolate immediately if symptoms develop.

      • Vaccinated employees or those that have tested positive for Covid-19 within ninety days from exposure do not need to quarantine unless symptoms appear. However, they are required to take a test 3-5 days after known exposure or if they start to show symptoms, and are required to wear a mask around other employees for ten days..

    • If infected with Covid-19 after testing positive or having mirroring symptoms of a close contact that has tested positive (assumed positive):

      • Employee will Quarantine for at least five days from date of onset of symptom:

      • Test as soon as possible. after five days from exposure.

      • End quarantine after day five if symptoms are improving, a fever of 100.4 or higher has not been present for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and a Covid-19 test taken five days after exposure is negative.

      • Upon return to the workplace, employee will wear a mask when around others regardless of vaccination status; continue monitoring for signs of infection for ten days after return to the workplace; and isolate immediately if symptoms develop.

    • If showing signs of sickness without any known exposure to Covid-19, employee will stay home from work until symptoms improve; take a at home covid-19 test before returning to work, and wear a mask while working around others.

  7. Investigating and Responding to Covid-19 Cases

    • If an employee tests positive, we evaluate the risk to those that may be worked around them and determine if quarantine of close contacts is necessary.

    • Employees are required to report any close contact to persons infected with Covid-19 both at the workplace and outside of it so we can determine the appropriate steps to take to avoid exposure to other employees.

  8. Training and Instruction

    • We have communicated to all employees the polices and procedures that have been established to protect them in the workplace.

    • All employees have been notified of their rights to paid time off and benefits for Covid infection.
