Safety at Sunseri Construction
At Sunseri Construction, safety is not reactive or checklist-driven. It is a proactive, collaborative, and continuously improving system that protects people, projects, and partnerships.
We believe that a safe jobsite is the clearest reflection of a well-run project. Clean, organized, and intentional environments don’t happen by accident—they are the result of a team that takes pride in their work and responsibility for each other.
Planning Work with Safety in Mind
Every phase of construction brings unique challenges. From early excavation to framing, interiors, and final turnover, we proactively identify risks and plan accordingly.
Pre-Task Planning & Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) help teams think through work before it begins
Phase-Based Risk Awareness ensures we stay ahead of changing conditions
Trade Partner Collaboration aligns expectations across all crews on site
Our goal is simple: eliminate surprises by anticipating hazards before they become incidents.
Visible Leadership & Engagement
Sitewide Safety Meeting - Cornerstone, Sacramento.
Safety is most effective when it’s personal. Our teams are present in the field, engaging directly with workers. Not just observing, but supporting.
Regular site walks and conversations with crews
Immediate coaching when something can be done safer
Recognition of crews who demonstrate strong safety awareness
We approach safety with respect and clarity, holding high expectations while building trust.
Subcontractor Alignment Starts Before Construction
We believe strong safety performance begins before the first worker arrives on site. During the bidding and preconstruction process, we evaluate subcontractors based on:
Insurance loss history
CAL-OSHA citation history
Training programs and safety leadership
Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to demonstrate processes exist to safely perform their respective work tasks.
Prior to starting work, we meet with subcontractors to align expectations around Job Hazardous Analysis (JHAs) PPE requirements, fall protection, emergency response, and first aid/CPR coverage. We ensuring these expectations are communicated clearly to crews before work begins.
Housekeeping as a Leading Indicator
We see housekeeping as more than cleanliness—it’s a real-time measure of jobsite health.
Clear walkways reduce slips, trips, and falls
Organized materials improve efficiency and reduce risk
Daily attention to detail prevents small issues from becoming larger problems
A well-kept site reflects a team that is attentive, disciplined, and professional.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to learning and getting better on every project.
Participation in programs such as Cal/OSHA Consultation Service and pursuit of VPP recognition
Ongoing training and education for our staff and trade partners
Open communication about what’s working and what needs to improve
We don’t view safety as a fixed standard, but as an evolving practice that benefits from experience, feedback, and shared accountability.
Shared Responsibility
Safety belongs to everyone on our projects. We expect every worker, partner, and team member to take ownership, not just for their own well-being, but for those around them.
When people feel empowered to speak up, support each other, and take pride in their environment, safety becomes part of the culture—not something separate from the work.
Our Commitment
At the end of the day, success is not just measured by what we build, but by how we build it.
We are committed to delivering projects where every person goes home safe, every day.
